What should I expect during my first CranioSacral Therapy session? 2017-03-26T15:04:36+00:00

When you arrive for your first CranioSacral Therapy session, we will discuss your medical history, your current health concerns, and your treatment goals. Once we are ready to begin treatment, you will lie fully clothed on a comfortable table in a private room. Using a light touch on your legs, hips, torso, arms, neck and head, I will “listen” to the natural rhythm of your CranioSacral system, and feel for areas of restriction around your central nervous system. The same light touch will be used to help your body release any restrictions that are found, and to improve your CranioSacral rhythm. Many clients experience a feeling of deep relaxation during treatment; this can sometimes last for several hours afterward.

How long will my session last? 2014-06-01T19:53:32+00:00

Most CranioSacral Therapy sessions are 60 minutes in length. Therapeutic Yoga sessions are 60-75 minutes in length.

How many sessions will I need? 2014-06-01T19:53:57+00:00

This can vary depending on the condition(s) you are seeking treatment for, and your response to treatment. Many notice a significant change in symptoms after 3-6 sessions, although some experience improvement after just 1 session. Once we’ve worked together a bit, we will be able to discuss more clearly what your treatment plan should be, based on your response to treatment and your goals.

Are my sessions covered by insurance? 2014-06-01T19:54:51+00:00

While I do not participate in any insurance plan, you may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance carrier, if you have out-of-network benefits for Physical Therapy. While you will not initially need a prescription from your doctor to receive treatment with me, most insurance carriers will require a prescription from a doctor or nurse practitioner in order to reimburse for Physical Therapy.
